Kettlebells have been used for centuries in Russia. The kettlebell first appeared in a Russian dictionary in 1704 and it's now being embraced across the country by top fitness trainers, competitive athletes and ordinary folks who want results. The basic kettlebell exercise is the swing. The swing, all by itself, is a full-body workout. Master trainer and Brazilian Jujitsu World Champion Steve Maxwell has said that "the perfect kettlebell swing is superior to 99% of all the sophisticated strength and conditioning programs." According to Moses Dungca, "Kettlebell Training is the most heartpumping, core strengthening, simple (but not easy) form of weight training there is, creating lean, powerful, flexible, and high endurance muscles." "Not a single sport develops our muscular strength and bodies as well as kettlebell athletics," reported Russian magazine Hercules in 1913.
